Wanda Carol Owens, age 59, of Lafayette, TN, passed away Thursday, December 10 at Macon County General Hospital.

Wanda Carol Owens, age 59, of Lafayette, TN, passed away Thursday, December 10 at Macon County General Hospital. Funeral services were conducted Sunday afternoon, December 12th, at 3 p.m., from chapel of Alexander Funeral Home with Reverend Bruce Kirby officiating. Cremation followed the service.
She was born on October 14, 1950 in Macon County, TN, to her parents; the late Claudie Ray Owen and Willow Faye Bray.
Wanda worked as a L.P.N. for most of her life, working for Metro General Hospital in Nashville for several years and then worked as a private duty nurse until she started her battle with cancer. Wanda enjoyed having fun, traveling and seeing different places. She was a person that would go out of her way to help others and cared greatly for her family.  No matter what pain she might be in, she always had a smile and something funny to say. Wanda was a loving mother, her daughter and grandson, was her life. She was a member of the Trinity Faith Fellowship in Lafayette. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Wanda is survived by; daughter, Shannon Curtis, grandson, Stephen Jones of Newington, CT, sisters, Martha and husband Junior Jenkins of Gallatin, TN, Sandra Lawrence of Lafayette, TN, brothers, Dennis and wife Alice Owen of Red Boiling Springs, TN, Roger and Blanche Owen of Manchester, TN, and several nieces and nephews, also survive.
