Cordell Story, 91
Cordell Story, age 91 of Trousdale County, Tennessee, died on January 20, 2010 at University Medical Center. Funeral services for Cordell Story were conducted Saturday, at 1 p.m. from the chapel of Alexander Funeral Home with Brother J. S. Gray officiating. Ray Dean Barber, J. C. Frye, Horace Story, Ray Story, Buddy Kelley, and Scott Derryberry served as pallbearers. Interment followed in the Green Grove Cemetery.He was born on June 24, 1918 in Trousdale County, Tennessee, to his parents; the late Bailey and Lee White Story. Besides his parents, two sisters, Frances Story and Lassie Barber, and a brother, Johnny Story, also preceded him in death.
As a young man he was married and had four children. Cordell was a farmer all his life; he worked several years for Strasser Dairy Farms. He enjoyed hunting as a young boy and loved to work in his gardens. Being the simple country man that he was, animals were something that he liked to raise and take care of; watching his chickens and ducks grow was his past time. Spending time with his family and talking with friends was what made him happy, the most. Cordell will be missed by all who knew and loved him. He is lovingly survived by; daughter, Betty Sue and husband Robert Wood of Murfreesboro, TN, sons, Billy and wife Linda Story of Murfreesboro, TN, Kevin Story of Hartsville, TN, and Phillip Story of Hartsville, TN, sister, Mildred Story, and Gearldine Story of both of Nashville, TN, brother, Donnie Story of Nashville, TN,
grandchildren, Madonna and husband Mike Wozniak, Mark and wife Dani Wood, Jackie and wife Pat Cook, Kim and husband Harrell Bullard, and Sherry Hepburn, ten great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild, also survive.
