Mary Goodman, 90

Mary Goodman, age 90 of Lafayette, Tennessee died on January 23, 2010 at Knollwood Manor. Funeral services for Mary Goodman were conducted Monday, at 11 a.m. from the chapel of Alexander Funeral Home with Elder Ricky Wilson
and Elder Charlie Patterson officiating. Hazel Goodman, James Russell, Anthony Minchey, Kelton Goodman, Pat Russell, and Jason Bringham served as pallbearers. Interment followed in the Macon County Memorial Gardens.
She was born on January 3, 1919 in Macon County, Tennessee, to her parents; to the late Elmer and Ethel Creasy Jenkins.
Mary was married to J. F. Goodman, sharing their life together and raising three children, he preceded her in death on November 11, 1986. Besides her husband and parents; brother, Carlos Ray Jenkins, and sisters, Pauline Butler and Hazel Gross, also preceded her in death.  

Mary worked as a seamstress for Formfit Rogers for eight years and also worked for Sportswear and Wal-Mart for a while. She loved to cook for her family and friends; her specialties were chocolate pies, scratch biscuits, ham, and red eye gravy.  Making quilts and sewing was what she enjoyed doing in her spare time. Mary was a loving and caring person, who cherished her family and friends. She was a member of the Lafayette Missionary Baptist Church.  Mary will be missed by all who knew and loved her. Mary is lovingly survived by; daughters, Brenda and husband Alton Minchey of Lafayette, TN, and Diana and husband Bill Roark of Lebanon, TN, son, Jeffery Goodman of Lebanon, TN, sister, Ollie and husband Alvin Calpino of Reading, PA, grandchildren, Melanie Johnson, Marla Roark Clifft, Anthony Bryan Minchey, Jennifer Leigh Bringham, and Kelton Goodman, great-grandchildren, Cayman Cockrill, Tyler Brunhoeber, Noah Johnson, Taylor Hope Bringham, and Mallory Goodman.
