Kim Brown, 31

  Kim Brown, age 31 of the Hickman Community, passed away Mon., Feb. 1 at the St. Thomas Hospital in Nashville with family at her bedside. She was being treated for breast cancer she had battled since being diagnosed on Feb. 28, 2008. Her pastor, Bro. Doug Dillard and family friend, Bro. Billy Brad Cowan, officiated the Fri. morning, Feb. 5 services from the Carthage Chapel of Sanderson Funeral Home.

Burial followed in the Smith County Memorial Gardens. Born Kimberly Dawn Craighead on March 14, 1978 in Carthage, she was the daughter of Jane Sanders Farley and Stanley Farley of the New Harmony Community in Macon County and the late Phillip Lester Craighead who died at the age of 52 on July 29, 2006. She was married June 26, 1999 to Stephen Patrick Brown of the Elmwood Community. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Robert Sanders and Annie Lee Evans Sanders who died March 21, 2002 at the age of 87 and her paternal grandparents, Charlie Jackson Craighead who died May 16, 2009 at the age of 85 and Jessie Jane Jones Craighead who dies Aug. 22, 2007 at the age 78. Ms. Brown was employed in accounting at the Custom Packing Corporation in Lebanon, a position she held for over four years. She was a member of the 1996 graduating class at Smith County high School. Ms. Brown was a member of the Lighthouse Community Church at New Middleton. Surviving are her two children, Jalen Kyle Brown and Olivia Grace Brown and their father, Stephen of Hickman; mother and father, Jane and Stanley Farley of New Harmony Community of Macon County; two sisters, Sandy (Jason) Hall of Hickman, Amy (Joe) Cornwell of Hartsville; two brothers, Lee (Jessica) Craighead of Phoenix City, AL., Tommy Farley and companion Shawna Wix of New Harmony; grandparents, Dutch and Mary Lois Farley of New Harmony; beloved nieces and nephews.
