William C. Brawner, 80

  William C. Brawner, age 80, of Lafayette passed away on Saturday, February 20, 2010 at his residence.  Funeral Services for William, better known as “Bill”, Brawner were conducted on Monday, February 22, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. from the Chapel of the Anderson & Son Funeral Home in Lafayette with Elder Rickey Day and Elder Mike Reed officiating.  

Friends and relatives served as Pallbearers.  Interment was in the Anderson & Son Memorial Park.  William Cleborn Brawner was born in Sumner County, Tennessee on Tuesday, June 25, 1929, one of six siblings born to the late Clifton Brawner and Annie Wright Brawner.  He was married to the former Thelma Russell, who passed away in December of 1990.  To this union was born six children.  He was married to his last wife, Glenda Chandler Young Brawner in November of 1995, who preceded him in death on April 2, 1999.  His sister, Elsie Sykes, brothers, Carl and Grover Brawner preceded him in death.   He was a self employed Carpenter and had a passion for fishing and gathering Ginseng.  He was a member of the Old Bottom Missionary Baptist Church.  He is survived by: Sons and daughters-in-law, Larry Brawner, Gary and Shannon Brawner, Daughters and sons-in-law, Judy and Jimmy Law, Trudy and J. C. Smith, Cynthia Charlotte, all of Lafayette, Shelvie and Ron Rasmussen of Oxford, IN, Sister, Shirley Gregory, Brother and sister-in-law, Ralph and Beatrice Brawner, all of Lafayette, Friend and Caregiver, Gayla Carter of Lafayette, 8 grandchildren, and 2 great grandchildren.
