Funeral Services for Bobby Joe Carver were conducted Friday morning, March 5, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. from the chapel of the Anderson & Son Funeral Home in Red Boiling Springs with Jimmy Cook, Paul Biles, John Cook and Doyle Gaines officiating. Interment will follow in the Pitcock Cemetery.

Honorary Pallbearers were Luke Carver Derrick, Mike Humphrey, John McCoy, Danny Shaw, Joe Russell, Jerry Ford, Luke Collins, Noel Porter, Benny Doss, and Howard Davis.  Active Pallbearers were David Gaines, Phillip Matthews, Mark Derrick, Jimmy Joines, Billy Ward Carver, Carrol Copas, Darrell Wilson and Michael Gass. Bobby was born Monday June 2, 1941 in Jackson County, Tennessee, one of two siblings of Blanche McLerran Carver of Hermitage Springs and the late Joseph Brown Carver. He was a 1959 Graduate of Hermitage Springs High School and received his Masters Degree from TTU in Cookeville, TN.  Bobby was a former Macon County School Teacher having taught at Enon, Westside and Fairlane Schools for several years.  He was the owner & operator of Tooley & Carver Insurance Company in Lafayette, a veteran of the United States Navy, attended the Hermitage Springs Church of Christ, member of the American Legion Post 117 and former member of the Lafayette Rotary Club and Lafayette Lions Club. Survivors besides his mother, Blanche include: sister & brother-in-law, Carmen & Harry T. Matthews, Lafayette, niece and her husband, Julie & Mark Derrick, Lakewood, Ohio, nephew and his wife, Phillip & Ashleigh Matthews, Hermitage Springs Community, great-nephew, Luke Carver Derrick, Lakewood, Ohio, great-nieces, Mallory Derrick, Lakewood, Ohio, Paige and Kendall Matthews, Hermitage Springs Community.
