March 1, 2010 at the Monroe County Medical Center in Tompkinsville, KY from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Funeral Services for James Eldon Veach were conducted on Thurs., March 4, 2010 at the Fountain Run First Baptist Church in Fountain Run, KY with Brothers Ron Norrod and Herman Wilkins officiating.

Interment followed in the Neal Cemetery in Flippin, KY. Deacons of the Fountain Run First Baptist Church served as honorary pallbearers. Grandsons Chris, Jamie, and Caleb Veach, Tyler Boles, Lee and Lane Driver served as pallbearers. Eldon was born Nov. 24, 1929 in Warren County, KY;  the son of the late Garrett and Dora Key Veach, he was also preceded in death by, brothers, Henry and Joe Veach and sister, Elizabeth Gosnell . He married his wife, Louise Veach in June 24, 1955, who survives. He worked hard as a farmer and served as city councilman for 13 years and mayor of Fountain Run for 17 yrs. He was a member of the Fountain Run First Baptist Church in Fountain Run, KY.  Other than his wife of 54 years, Louise, he is survived by 2 sons, James H. “Jimmie” (Yvette) Veach and Gary Joe (Candy) Veach, one brother William “Bill” Downing all of Fountain Run, KY. , 9 Grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
