Funeral Services for Reba Rush McCarter were conducted Thurs. afternoon, March 25, 2010 from the chapel of the Anderson & Son Funeral Home in Red Boiling Springs with Jimmy Cook officiating. Interment followed in the Smith Chapel Cemetery.

Her pallbearers were Scottie Perdue, Kevin Perdue, Kelly McCarter, Corey McCarter, Darriel McCarter II, Buddy Head, Robert Reid and Matthew McCarter. Reba was born June 1, 1926 in Clay County, Tennessee, the daughter of the late Sam and Tennessee Bean Rush.  She married Willard H. McCarter, who preceded her in death.  In addition to her husband and parents, she was also preceded in death by her sisters, Amie Pedigo, Mamie Purcell  and Flossie Wilson, brothers, Bedford and Flevel Rush. She was a garment factory worker and a member of the Hermitage Springs Church of Christ. Survivors include: daughter & son-in-law, Linda & Roger Perdue, Hermitage Springs; sons & daughters-in-law, Darriel & Molene McCarter, Gary & Vivian McCarter all of Hermitage Springs, Jerry & Janet McCarter, Smithville; special friend, Janie McCarter, Hermitage Springs; sister, Elsie Green, Horse Cave, KY; 16 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren.
