Lancaster, age 62 of Lafayette, TN passed away Wed. April 7, 2010 at his residence. A Memorial Service was held Mon., April 12, 2010 from the chapel of Alexander Funeral Home with Reverend John Barnes officiating. R.D. was born in Bakersfield, CA. on June 30, 1947; he was one of five siblings born to the late Ferrell David and Dessie Johnson Lancaster.

As a young man R.D. was married and had a daughter, Sherry that he loved very much, she survives. He worked most of his life on farms as a laborer, until he retired in 2000. R.D. was a very simple man; he loved the outdoors whether he was sitting on the bank fishing, shooting his guns or sitting around a fire, this is what made his day. He also liked to work around the barn and go metal detecting. He was of the Pentecostal Belief and will be greatly missed by his loving family and all who knew him. R.D. is survived by; daughter, Sherry and husband Harvey Jones of California, brother, Russell and wife Willie Dean Lancaster of California, sisters, Loretta Collins of Washington, Loraine Shadden, and Margaret and husband Hershel West all of Lafayette, TN, special niece, Laura June and husband Wes Redden of Lafayette, TN, three grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews; also survive.
