John Bill Gulley, 85

Version:1.0 StartHTML:0000000179 EndHTML:0000002974 StartFragment:0000002360 EndFragment:0000002938 SourceURL:file://localhost/Users/computer/Desktop/obitsw:pics/GULLEY.doc JOHN BILL GULLEY, better known as “Bill”, age 85 of Lafayette, Tennessee, passed away, June 11, 2010 at his residence.  Funeral services for John Bill Gulley were conducted Sunday, June 13, 2010 at 2 p.m. from the Chapel of Alexander Funeral Home with Elder Jimmie Cox officiating.  William Blackwell, Troy Mungle, Scotty Mungle, Jonathon Dean, Owen Watson and Dennis Bandy served as Pallbearers. Interment followed in the Drury Cemetery.

Besides his parents; seven brothers, Lathard Gulley, Luther Gulley, Rupell Gulley, Dan Gulley, Andrew Gulley, Johnson Gulley, and Oscar Gulley, two sisters, Dorothy Sanders, and Lula Gulley; also preceded him in death.
Bill married the love of his life, Betty Lucille Carver Gulley on November 10, 1951, sharing almost fifty-nine years together and raising six children; Betty survives.
He enjoyed his job at Tri-County Electric Membership Company, working there for twenty-eight years before retiring.  He grew tobacco and raised cattle; often you would find him sitting outside watching his cows as they grazed. Bill loved his farm, he would walk the land very day as long as his health allowed.
He enjoyed coon hunting, fishing and whittling with his family and friends. Bill was big hearted and had a great personality; he would give you the shirt off his back, if you needed it.
In later years, he enjoyed going to Wal-Mart, just to sit and see people he knew and talk awhile. His wife, children, and grandbabies were his pride and joy; having them surround him at home made him happy; he loved everybody. Bill was a
member of Cedar Bluff Missionary Baptist Church. He will be greatly missed by his loving family and all who knew him.
Bill is survived by; wife, Betty Lucille Gulley of Cedar Bluff Community in Macon County, TN, sons, Adam and wife Connie Gulley of Bethpage, TN, Billy “Buddy” Gulley, and Chris and wife Kelly Gulley all of Lafayette, TN, daughters, Eloria Dean, Janice and husband Donald Mungle, and Rita and husband Roger Binion all of Lafayette, TN, sister, Lorene Johns of Lafayette, TN, brother, Tom Gulley of Hartsville, TN, nine grandchildren, and fifteen great-grandchildren; also survive.
