Monroe County Medical Center in Tompkinsville.
He was born in Monroe County, KY on December 21, 1922 to the late Merkie Anderson Cain and Henry Thomas Cain. He was a retired farmer and a member of Tompkinsville Church of Christ. He was united in marriage on December 21, 1947, to Nova Scott.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by seven brothers: Ceci, Ruebin, Emmitt, Clyde, Bony, Creed and Clennon Cain, two sisters: Myrtie Scott and Bertha Spears. Funeral services were conducted Monday, July 5 at 11 AM at Strode Funeral Home in Tompkinsville, Westley Hazel officiated. Burial was in the Bailey Cemetery. Pallbearers were Powell Walden, Saylor Walden, Dustin Cherry, James Thompson, Eddie Purdue and Ronnie Scott. Honorary pallbearers were Dr. Fowler Ross, Donnie Scott, Anthony Scott, Dewayne Purdue, Scott Purdue and A. J. Cain. Strode Funeral Home in Tompkinsville was in charge of arrangements. Family suggested memorial contributions to the Bailey Cemetery.
