VELMA LOIS PRESLEY, 81

VELMA LOIS PRESLEY- age 81 of Lafayette, passed away on Tuesday morning August 10, 2010 at the Gallatin Healthcare. Funeral services for Mrs. Velma Lois Presley will be conducted  Wednesday, August 11th, at 11 a.m. from the chapel of Alexander Funeral Home with Elder Michael Drennon officiating. Bill Sorrells, Dennis Thrasher, Ricky Troop, James Stinson, Greg Alvis, James Kemp, James Perry, and Danial Soto served as pallbearers. Interment will follow in the Drury Cemetery.

She was born on September 17, 1928 in Macon County, Tennessee to the late Cornelius and Lillian Hesson Bandy.  
She was married to Leonard Lee Presley on April 17, 1947, sharing twenty-nine years together; he preceded her in death on October 16, 1976. Besides her husband and parents; one brother, Delbert Bandy, also preceded her in death.          
Velma was a housewife and enjoyed being outside working in her garden. She never had children of her own so she spoiled her nephew, Donald. Velma and Leonard loved having Donald to come and stay with them and treated him as their own.
She was a very caring person and always wanted to do for others.  If anyone needed her in time of sickness all they had to do was call. Velma liked watching her soap opera’s on television and going out to eat chicken with family and friends.
She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Velma is survived by; nephew, Donald and wife Tiffany Bandy, great nephews, Noah and Nick Bandy all of Gallatin, TN.
