Charles Austin departed this life on Wednesday, September 15, 2010 in the emergency room at Macon County General Hospital in Lafayette, TN.

A native of Macon County, Tennessee, he was born on Monday, December 31, 1945 and was the fourth of eight siblings born to the late Elder J. C. and Thelma (Tucker) Austin, both natives of Macon County.   His Dad was a Missionary Baptist Preacher and a disciplinarian with his children, teaching them Christian ways and work ethics.  His mother was a lady, who gave up a possible career in Design with a great talent for drawing and painting, to become the wife of a preacher, always faithful to follow him wherever God sent him and a homemaker who took great pride in her children.  In addition to his parents, a grandson, Cory Barlow preceded him in death.  He lived away from Macon County for several years working as a carpenter and construction worker before becoming disabled.  He returned home in recent years to live on the farm where he was raised.   He was saved at eleven years of age at the church in the Frog Pond Community and was a member of the Friendship Missionary Baptist Church.  Charles loved to spend time fishing in Florida, sometimes making four or five trips a year there, enjoyed hunting, and farming.  His two daughters reflect memories of their Daddy always being honest, caring, loving, friendly and very hard working.  As with his girls, he had a special bond with his grandchildren and loved to go get them to spend the night with him.  He is survived by daughters, Danna Lee Winn and special friend Shawn Armour of Red Boiling Springs, TN, Crystal and Rocky Austin-Breece of Nunnelly, TN, brothers and sisters-in law, Clarence and Jan Austin of White Bluff, TN, Elder Terry and Teresa Austin of Lafayette, TN, sisters and brothers-in-law, Brownie and Carroll Barton, Brenda Hiett, all of Lafayette, TN, Bertha and Jerry Hauskins of the Cross Lanes Community of Macon County, TN, Carolyn Anderson of Gallatin, TN, Becky Yancey of Lascassas, TN, special friend, Charlene Brawner of Lafayette, TN, granddaughters, Jillian and Raquell Breece.
