He was born on February 05, 1953 in Macon County, Tennessee to Louella Andrews Steen and the late Elston Claudene Steen.
He married the love of his life, Becky Lou Driver Steen on October 10, 1975, sharing what would have been thirty-five years together and raising two daughters, Becky survives. Besides his father; grandparents, Levey and Pauline Steen, and father-in-law, Robert Lewis Driver, also preceded him in death.
Donnie worked for Fleetwood as a service man for several years. Later he drove a school bus for the Macon County Board of Education, before becoming disabled.
As a young man, he enjoyed riding horses and was a member of the Macon County Saddle Club. He showed his horses in Lafayette, Gallatin, Portland, and Westmoreland. Tinkering on automobiles and trading on things were great past times for Donnie. On the weekends going out with friends and family to eat, was one of his favorite things to do. When at home he liked to get on the computer, especially on EBay to see what he could find. Donnie was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and son. His face lit up when he had his children and grandchildren around him.
