Mortie Robin Russell, age 59, of Fountain Run, KY passed away on Friday, September 17, 2010 at the Monroe County Medical Center in Tompkinsville, KY. Funeral services for Mortie Russell were conducted on Monday, September 20, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. with Brother Timmy Eaton and Brother Jody McIntyre officiating.

George Kirk, Joe Cornwell, Billy York, Richard Hagan, Barry Kaufman, David York, and Larry Capps were Honorary Pallbearers. Shawn Russell, Kenneth Jackson, Bobby Joe York, Brandon York, Richard Belcher, Mike Simmons, Eugene Russell and David Phillips served as active Pallbearers. Interment was in the Fountain Run Cemetery. Mortie was born on January 7, 1951, one of eleven siblings born to the late Sidney and Emily (Dismon) Russell. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five brothers, James Creek, Billy Joe, Jimmy Lee, Elzie D., and Irvin Ray Russell. He was a member of the Fountain Run Missionary Baptist Church and had worked for the Sam Davis Feed Mill sacking fee for about 20 years. Mortie was often seen riding around Fountain Run on his scooter and will be missed by all his neighbors that were his friends. He is survived by brothers and sister-in-law, Thomas Russell, Charles and Judy Russell, all of Fountain Run, KY, sisters and brothers-in-law, Ella Mae (Mitchell) Jackson of Fountain Run, KY, Alma Lee and Annie D Phillips of Gamaliel, KY.
