Patty Lou Shoulders Mayes, age 72, of the Highland Community in Jackson County, passed away Sunday evening at her residence. Funeral services for Patty Mayes conducted on Wednesday, September 29, 2010 at 11 AM from the Chapel of Anderson & Son Funeral Home in Lafayette with Brother Johnny Carver officiating. Interment followed in the Forest Lawn Cemetery in Goodlettsville.

She was born September 12, 1938 in Dixon Springs, Tennessee, one of four siblings born to the late Isam and Ercie Shoulders. She was married for 30 years to Richard Mayes, who preceded her in death in 2007. In addition to her husband and parents, she was also preceded in death by a son, Mark Mayes, sisters, Edith Personette and Henrietta Pappas, and a brother, Phoshian Shoulders. Patty was a homemaker and caretaker of elderly folks, and was a member of the McFerrin Missionary Baptist Church.
She is survived by Son and Daughter-in-Law, Randy (Kim) McClanahan, of Madison, Niece, Sheila (Robert) Baggett of Bon Aqua, Devoted Companion, Charlie Wiggins of Goodlettsville, Daughter-in-law, Tammy (Mike) Douglas of Lebanon, Grandchildren, Patrick, Jessica, Jamie, Hope, Holly and Haven, Great grandchildren, Shelby, Victoria, Kaeden and Justin.
