Funeral services for Selma Wheat Pardue were conducted on Wednesday, October 6, 2010 at 1 p.m. from the Fountain Run Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Timmy Eaton and Brother Terry Holland officiating. Timmy Pardue, Barry Pardue, Brad Pardue, Tyler Wells, Jonathan Booth, Larry Wells, Ricky Thomas, and Jake Pardue served as Pallbearers.  Interment was in the Crescent Hill Cemetery in Scottsville.

Ms. Selma was born on December 6, 1918, the last to die of nine siblings born to the late James Layton and Emma (Steenbergen) Wheet. She was married to Ellis Hugh Pardue in 1935, who preceded her in death on June 12, 1993. To this 58 year union was born six children. Two sons, Justin and Dennis Pardue and a daughter, Nancy Carol Pardue preceded her in death. In addition to her husband, parents and children, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Reberry, Haskell, Lloyd, and James Wheat, as well as two infant brothers, sisters, Elvie Atwood and Nellie Woodcock. Ms. Selma Worked for the Overall Factory in Scottsville for over 21 years was a member of the Women’s Club in Barren County and a member of the Pleasant Home Baptist Church. She was a wonderful homemaker and loved her family. The remaining family recalls memories of what a good mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother she was. As a way of the older generation her age, she learned at a young age how to cook, sew, preserve and can vegetables, quilt and anything else that could be done with a needle and thread. She is survived by daughters and son-in-law, Mary Dee Williams of Fountain Run, KY, Pearl (Gene) Martin, Louisville, KY, son and daughter-in-law, Guy (Nelda) Pardue, Louisville, KY, 8 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren.
