CARRIE NELL HOPKINS- age 88 of Westmoreland, passed away late in the evening on Wednesday, November 24, 2010 at Macon County General Hospital. Funeral services for Ms. Carrie Hopkins were conducted on Saturday, November 27, at 1 p.m. from the chapel of Alexander Funeral Home with Elder G. W. Knight officiating. Charlie Burney, Jerry Duncan, Hunter Duncan, David Hall, Gary Duncan, and Jeff Brown served as Pallbearers. Interment followed in the Haysville Cemetery.

Carrie was born in Macon County, Tennessee on October 30, 1922 to the late Clyde and Pervis Sliger Duncan. She was one of three children born to her parents.
On May 27, 1944, she was married to Mack Hopkins sharing almost sixty wonderful years together, Mack preceded her in death on January 9, 2003. Besides her husband and parents; one brother, Hollis Duncan, also preceded her in death.
Carrie was not blessed with children, but loved her nieces and nephews as her own.
She was a homemaker and had worked in a shirt factory as a seamstress and presser for many years; until she retired. After retiring, she enjoyed working in her flower garden. She was also an avid quilter, and that was what she spent many hours doing. Carrie was a great cook and enjoyed preparing meals for homecomings and get-togethers.
She was saved and a member of Haysville Missionary Baptist Church. Carrie will be greatly missed by her family and all who knew her.
She is survived by; Brother, Elder Hillman Duncan of Hendersonville, TN, Nieces,
Annette Brown of Nashville, TN, Glenda Hall of Hopkinsville, KY, and Donna Burney
of Springfield, TN, Nephews, Gary Duncan of Nashville, TN, and Jerry Duncan of Springfield, TN.
