Ferrell, age 79 of Smithville and formerly of Red Boiling Springs and Carthage, passed away Tuesday evening, January 11, 2011 at the DeKalb Community Hospital in Smithville. Funeral Services for Billy E. Ferrell were conducted Friday morning, January 14, 2011 at 11 a.m. from the Chapel of Anderson & Son Funeral Home in Red Boiling Springs with Jimmy Cook officiating. Interment followed in the Thomas Cemetery.

Billy was born Sunday, June 21, 1931 in Macon County, Tennessee, one of four siblings born to late Paul and Laura House Ferrell. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his brothers, Bobby and Jack Ferrell. He married the former Margaret Ann Raby, who survives. He was a retired X-Ray Technician for the former Smith Chitwood Hospital in Lafayette and Smith County Memorial Hospital in Carthage for many years. Billy and his wife, Margaret also owned & operatored It’s Yesterday Once More, an antique shop in Monteagle for several years until Billy’s health failed. He was a member of the Willette Church of Christ and an avid antique dealer. Billy was a true southern gentleman. Survivors besides his wife, Margaret include: sons & daughters-in-law, Chris & Shelia Ferrell, Carthage, Phillip & Lesley Ferrell, granddaughters, Lyndsey, Makenzie and Kendall Ferrell all of Murfreesboro, Logen Ferrell, Carthage, grandson, Lucas Ferrell, Carthage, sister & brother-in-law, Peggy & Bill Gagnon, Aiken, S.C.
