Vernon Community in Clay County passed away Sunday morning, January 9, 2011 at her residence. Funeral Services for Gladys Bean Cherry were conducted Thursday morning, January 13, 2011 at 11 a.m. from the Chapel of Anderson & Son Funeral Home in Red Boiling Springs with Glen Crowe officiating.

Gladys was born Monday, May 26, 1930 in Clay County, TN, the daughter of the late Bedford and Gertie Browning Bean. On December 8, 1960, she married Carl Jessie Cherry, who preceded her in death on November 23, 2000. Gladys was a machine operator for the former Oshkosh B’Gosh in Celina and Hermitage Springs with 43 years of service and a member of the Mt. Vernon Church of Christ. Survivors include: brothers & sisters-in-law, Coel & Shirley Bean, Junior & Frances Bean, nephews, Ricky Bean, Randy (Mary) Bean, Roger (April) Bean all of the Mt. Vernon community, Ronald (Kadie) Bean, Kansas City, MO, great-nephew, Rob Bean, Great-nieces, Emerson Bean and Camden Bean all of Mt. Vernon Community and a host of family and friends.
