Funeral services for Ms. Elizabeth Ann Blankenship were conducted Thursday, January 27, at 1 p.m. from the Chapel of Alexander Funeral Home with Elder Jeff Blackwell officiating.

Interment followed in the Haysville Cemetery. Elizabeth was born in Macon County, Tennessee on September 30, 1923 to the late Walter B. and Martha Emmaline Meadows Harper. In 1942, Elizabeth was married to Estel Simpson Blankenship sharing thirty-eight wonderful years together and raising one daughter, Estel preceded her in death on December 11, 1980. Besides her husband and parents; brothers, Otis Harper, Leslie Harper, Albert Harper, and Hollis Harper, sisters, Ossie King, Bessie Hauskins, and Genevia Harper, also preceded her in death. She worked for several years at Form-Fit Rogers and later went to Wal-Mart working twelve years as a Door Greeter, until retiring. What made Elizabeth happiest was having her family around her. She enjoyed spending the day working in her garden as long as she could. Being the lady she was, Elizabeth loved to spend her day shopping.
She was a member of the Lafayette Church of Christ. Elizabeth will be greatly missed by her family and all who knew and loved her. She is survived by: Daughter, Carolyn (Louie) Minchey of Lafayette, TN, Brothers, Olie Harper of Lafayette, TN, Bobby Harper of Somerset, KY, Sister, Ida Willis of Hazel Park, Michigan, Granddaughter, Marchelle Salyer, Great-grandchildren, Virginia Duncan, and Jimmy Salyer all of Hartsville, TN, Great-great-grandchildren, Austin Duncan, also survive.
