Funeral Services for Liz Holland Russell were conducted on Tuesday, February 1, 2011 at 1pm from the Chapel of the Alexander Funeral Home with Brother Jerry Wix officiating.

David Holland, Ronnie Glen Holland, Casey Gulley, Billy Sircy, Jamie Coulter, and Tommy Coulter served as Pallbearers. Interment followed in the Will Gregory Cemetery in the Sycamore Valley Community of Macon County, Tennessee. Liz was born in Davidson County, Tennessee on August 16, 1961 to Fannie May Gulley Holland and the late Samuel Paul Holland. In December of 1988, Liz was married to Ronnie Dale Russell sharing twenty years together. They raised twin daughters and Liz shared a step-son with her husband. Ronnie preceded her in death on January 27, 2008. Liz worked on the assembly line at American Greeting’s most of her life. After the plant closed, she went to work in Home Health Care as a Certified Nursing Assistant, for a few years until she became disabled. She enjoyed taking care of her home, cooking, and working in her huge flower gardens. Liz was very talented at drawing and painting pictures. Her drawings were a way for her to express herself. Liz was a very caring person. She loved her children, grandchildren and great-grandchild unconditionally. Most importantly, she was saved as a young girl and joined Grace Baptist Church. She later joined Antioch Missionary Baptist Church in 2000 where she remained a member. She will be greatly missed by her family and all who knew and loved her. Liz is survived by: daughters; Rebecca Desha Russell and Jessica Rena (Martin’) Ventura, mother; Fannie Holland, step-son; Troy Dale Russell all of Lafayette, TN, sisters, Paula Wix of Lafayette. TN, Carmela (Paul) Green of Adolphus, KY, grandchildren; Xavier Malachi Russell and Christian Martin’ Dale Ventura, step-grandchildren; Dustin & Susan Russell, Step-great-grandchild, Camden Russell, and several nieces and nephews, also survive.
