Funeral services for Jessie Wayne Brawner were conducted on Saturday, February 5, 2011 at 2 p.m. from the Chapel of the Alexander Funeral Home. Elder G.W. Knight officiated and interment followed in the Fairview Cemetery.

Jessie was born in Macon County, Tennessee on December 14, 1951 to the late Arnit Franklin and Lillie Myrtle Knight Brawner. He was one of eleven children born to this union. Besides his parents; three brothers, Bobby Gene Brawner, Herbie Brawner, and Anthony Lane Brawner, also preceded him in death. Jessie was married as a young man and has two daughters, Jessica and Rebekah. He was a self-employed business man and had managed the Lafayette Airport for a time. Having a deep love for flying made him perfect for the job. Jessie belonged to the Hillsdale Masonic Lodge #664 and was a member of the Oak Grove General Baptist Church in Kentucky. Jessie will be greatly missed by his family and all who knew and loved him. He is survived by: Daughters; Jessica and husband Brian Birdwell, and Rebekah Brawner, Grandchild, Abner Kaline Birdwell, all of Cookeville, TN, Sisters, Alma Taylor of Hartsville, TN, Josephine Brawner of Hartsville, TN, Charlene Brawner of Lafayette, TN, Linda Brawner of Scottsville, KY, and Shirley Williams of Westmoreland, TN, Brothers, Olie Brawner, and Roger Brawner of Westmoreland, TN, also survive.
