Funeral Services for Robert “Grant” Malo were conducted Sunday at 3 p.m. from the Chapel of Alexander Funeral Home with Brother Seth Blankenship officiating and Jon Hesson speaking.

Employees of the City Police Department, the Macon County Sheriff’s Department, and Jonathan Malo served as Honorary Pallbearers. Wesley White, Tony Malo, Marty Blankenship, Brad Murphy, Cody Miller, and Shane Hesson served as Active Pallbearers. Interment followed in the Macon County Memorial Gardens. Grant was born in Schenectady, New York on November 6, 1972 to Robert Edward and Linda Mary Lane Malo.  He was one of two children born to this union. Grant married Ryan White Malo on March 29, 2003, sharing almost eight years together. He has one daughter and one son; his pride and joy.
He was a 1991 graduate of Waterford-Halfmoon High School. Following High School, he attended Schenectady County Community College for a short while. He was a Veteran serving in the United States Army. After serving his country, he went to work for the Macon County Sheriff’s Department as a deputy. Later he transferred to the Lafayette City Police Department working as a detective. Grant had served as a County commissioner in the past. He enjoyed sports of all kinds, so helping coach a girls Soccer team and a Baseball team made him happy. Grant liked going out in the woods to deer and turkey hunt, but he was an avid Golfer. He loved playing golf as often as possible. He was of the Catholic Belief. He will be greatly missed by his family and all who knew and loved him. Grant is survived by; Wife, Ryan White Malo, Daughter, Grace Malo, Son, Ely Malo, all of Lafayette, TN, Parents, Robert and Linda Malo of Greenville, S.C, Brother, Anthony (Mary Ellen) Malo of Waterford, NY, Father-in-law, Jerry (Arlyne) White, Mother-in-law, Candace Jenkins, and Brother-in-law, Wesley (Rebecca) White all of Lafayette, TN, several aunts, uncles, and cousins also survive.
