Funeral services from the Hackett Chapel of Sanderson Funeral Home were conducted Saturday afternoon March 26th at 1 p.m. with her pastor, Eld. Jeff Patterson officiating. Burial followed in the Defeated Creek Memorial Gardens.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Lester Bethel Brooks who died at the age of 64 on December 14, 1984 and by Benton Glennis Brooks who died at the age of 79 on May 1, 2005. Mrs. Brooks’ step-mother, Mrs. Ethel Agnes Gregory Brooks, died December 15, 1983 at the age of 88. On July 19, 1941 Mrs. Brown was united in marriage to Gladdice Community native Henry Hall Brown. He preceded her in death on April 16, 2004 at the age of 83 after over 62 years of marriage. Two granddaughters preceded Mrs. Pauline in death, Abby Pauline Thompson who died at birth February 18, 1969 and Christie Leigh Thompson who died June 7, 2009 at the age of 36. Mrs. Brooks was saved September 21, 1958 and was a longtime member of the Friendship Primitive Baptist Church at Defeated Creek. She formerly was employed at the Carthage Shirt Corporation and was a homemaker and worked along side her husband on the family farm in the Smith Hollow at Difficult. Surviving are her two daughters, Janie Thompson and husband Billy of Difficult, Cynthia Draper and husband Roger of Pleasant Shade; grandchildren, Chris Thompson and wife Suzanne of Murfreesboro, Paige Draper, twins Jessica and Justin Draper all of Pleasant Shade; great-grandchildren, Dylan and Hannah Thompson of Murfreesboro; caregivers, Becky Sloan, Davonda Craighead and Amy Roberson. The Brown family requests memorials to the Smith County Special Education Program.
