Knight, age 85, of Red Boiling Springs, TN passed away Sunday morning, April 24, 2011 at The Palace in Red Boiling Springs, TN.  Funeral Services for Dennis A. Knight will be conducted Wednesday afternoon, April 27, 2011 at 1 p.m. from the Anderson & Son Funeral Home Chapel in Red Boiling Springs, TN with Pastor Dan Smith officiating.

Interment will follow in the Jenkins Cemetery with military honors. His family will serve as pallbearers. Dennis was born November 26, 1925 in Sumner County, TN, the son of the late Joe and Caroline Frances Hutchins Knight. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his daughter, Sandrell June Hopper, sister, Clarice Williams, and brothers, Edward, Stanton, Bluford and Harry Knight. He was a mechanic for The Bailey Co. in Nashville, TN with 20 years of service and proudly served in the United States Army during WWII where he received the Good Conduct Medal, Asiatic-Pacific Theater Ribbon, Victory Medal and Army of Occupation Medal Japan. Survivors include: devoted  companion, Joyce Claridy, Red Boiling Springs, daughter & son-in-law, Susan & Eddie Sloan, Hendersonville, sons & daughters-in-law, Donald Knight, Goodlettsville, David Knight, Old Hickory, Larry & Penny Knight,  Barry & Beth Knight, all of Hendersonville, brother, Joe Knight, Madison, 11 grandchildren.
