Interment followed in the Hermitage Memorial Gardens. Evelyn was born on October 1, 1923 in Davidson County, Tennessee to the late Charles N. Greer, Sr. and Rosa Lee Duncan Greer. She was one of four children born to this union. On February 22, 1957, Evelyn was married to Thomas W. Johnson, sharing twenty-four years together. Thomas preceded her in death on October 30, 1981. Besides her husband and parents; two brothers and two sisters-in-law, Charles Jr. and Kitty Greer, John and Dot Greer, sister, Joyce and Eugene Carr, and brother-in-law, B.C. Smith, Jr. also preceded her in death. She was a graduate of East High School.  Evelyn worked as a secretary for Metro Nashville in the County Court Clerk Office where she stayed until retirement. Evelyn with her husband Tom was very active in many organizations and activities in Madison. Being a great Interior Decorator is what most knew about her.  Evelyn enjoyed arranging parties and socials. She had a great personality about her and always wore a smile. Evelyn loved spending all her spare time with her son and her grandchildren. They kept her going and gave her the zest to live. She was a member of St. Luke’s Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Evelyn’s smile will be missed by her family and friends, but great memories will remain. She is survived by: son, David (Delane) Vester of Lafayette, TN, grandsons, Thomas (Amanda) Vester, Tyler (Jaclyn) Vester, great-grandchildren, Kamryn and Mackenzie Vester, many loving cousins, nieces and nephews, also survive.
