Hazel was born on July 3, 1922 to the late Hazel Audie and Priscilla Oma Massey Shrum. She was one of four children born to this union. Besides her first husband and parents; two sons, Paul Cook and Roy Cook, brother, Billy Shrum, grandson, Troy Cook, and a granddaughter, Tracy Cook, also preceded her in death. Later on, Hazel met Raymond Tuck and they were married sharing over 30 years together, Raymond survives. Hazel worked at local garment factories; Form-fit Rogers and Imperial Reading for many years. She enjoyed having friends and family over to eat. She loved cooking until there was no more room left on the table, for another bowl. Helping her family and others in need gave her great pleasure. In her extra time she had made several quilts and crochet pieces. But above all her accomplishments the most important was being saved as a young girl and being a member of Friendship Missionary Baptist Church.
