Mr. Thomas E. “Tommy”
Blunkall of Old Hickory died at 1:40 p.m. Wednesday afternoon July 6, 2011 at
his McArthur Drive home under hospice care. He was 80. Funeral services were
conducted Friday evening July 8th at 7 p.m. from the Hermitage Funeral Home. Rucker
Chunn and Mr. Blunkall’s son Thomas Blunkall Jr. officiated

 Graveside services and interment were conducted Saturday
afternoon July 9th at 1 p.m. from the Smith Family Cemetery in the Smith Bend
Community with the same officiates. Born Thomas Eudaly Blunkall in Nashville on
December 17, 1930, he was one of seven children of the late William and Lillian
Gilliam Blunkall. Five siblings preceded him in death, three sisters, Lona
McPherson, Malvena Farmer, Wanda Perkerson and two brothers, Buddy and Arthur
Blunkall. On January 13, 1979 Mr. Blunkall was united in marriage to Smith Bend
Community native Bobbie Jean Smith. Mr. Blunkall was of the Baptist faith, a
Mason and was retired from Avco Aerostructures with 27 years service. Surviving
in addition to his wife of thirty two years are three children, Thomas E.
“Tommy” Blunkall Jr. and wife Phyllis of Hot Springs, Arkansas, Vickie Jewel
and husband Eddie of Texas, Billy Blunkall and wife Janice of Lewisburg, TN;
step-son, Tom Forkum and wife Ellen of Gladdice; sister, Helen Rekart of
Lebanon; fourteen grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren.
