  Ms. Dorothy Lucille
Simmons, age 77, of Lafayette, Tennessee passed away Monday evening, August 29,
2011 at Hartsville Convalescent Center. Graveside services for Dorothy Lucille
Simmons were conducted Thursday, September 1, 011at 2 p.m. from the Drury Cemetery
with Elder Guthrie Thompson officiating, Interment followed.

  Grandson, T.J. Tuttle, served
as Pallbearer. Dorothy was born on January 8, 1934 in Jackson County, Tennessee
to the late Herman and Littie Sircy. As a young lady she married and had one
son. Barney. Later in life, Dorothy was married to Elder Hollis Ray Simmons;
they had one daughter, Vonda. Elder Hollis preceded her in death on May 4,
1994. Besides her husband and parents; one brother, R.V. Sircy also preceded
her in death. She was a seamstress working for Form-Fit Rogers for over 40
years, before retiring. Dorothy’s family came first in her life, keeping her
grandbabies was what she loved the most. She enjoyed cooking and making
big meals for her family and friends. Dorothy liked to research family
genealogy in her spare time. She was saved at the age of 13 at Gladdice
Missionary Baptist Church and was a member of Brattontown Missionary Baptist
Church. Dorothy will be greatly missed by her family and all those who knew and
loved her. She is survived by; Son and Daughter-in-law, Barney (Donna) West of
Hartsville, TN, Daughter and Son-in-law, Vonda (Troy) Tuttle of Lafayette, TN,
Grandchildren, B.J. and wife Stacy West of Lebanon, TN, Nicholas and wife
Melissa West of St. Louis, MO, T.J. Tuttle and Jo Angela Tuttle both of
Lafayette, TN, Brothers and Sister-in-law, Ronnie Sircy of Hartsville, TN, and
Dan (Betty) Sircy of Smithville, TN, Great-grandchildren, Ethan West and Kipton
West of Lebanon, TN, Kayson West of St. Louis, MO. Alexander Funeral Home,
Directors, in charge of arrangements.
