Douglas Smith, age 68, of Union Hill Community will be held 3 p.m., Sunday,
September 11, 2011 at Union Hill Church of Christ interment to follow in the
Union Hill Cemetery. Visitation 10 a.m. – 9 p.m. Saturday & 9 a.m. – 3 p.m.
Sunday at Upton Funeral Home.

  Doug Smith passed away
Thursday, September 8, 2011 at his residence. Jerry Douglas Smith was born
February 24, 1943 in Union Hill, Tennessee to the late Walter Lemuel and Leam
Ada (Turner) Smith. Douglas married Janie Lou Pennington on March 31, 1973. Doug
was owner of Honest Age Log Homes and was a United States Army Veteran. Doug
was a member of the Union Hill Church of Christ. Doug is survived by his Wife,
Janie Lou Smith of Union Hill Community; Son, Shane Smith and Wife, Lesley of
Union Hill Community; Daughter, April Dawn Smith of Union Hill Community;
Brothers, Brimage (Bud) Smith of Fayetville, Tennessee, Dillard Smith of
Cleveland, Georgia and Jimmy Dale Smith of Milton, Tennessee; Sisters, Belva
Davis of Red Boiling Springs and Pat Hix of Union Hill Community;
Grandchildren, Isaac Walton, Eli Douglas, Andrew Davis and Lily Adelynn Smith.
In addition to his parents Doug was preceded in death by Sisters, Jewell
Carlisle and Dean Allen
