Opal Lee Kirby, age 91, of
the Walnut Shade Community in Macon County, TN passed away, Saturday afternoon,
September 3, 2011 at the Palace in Red Boiling Springs, TN. Funeral Services
for Opal Lee Kirby were conducted Tuesday afternoon, September 6, 2011 at 2
p.m. from the chapel of the Anderson & Son Funeral Home in Red Boiling
Springs with E. C. Meadows and Jimmy Cook officiating. Interment followed
in the Smith Chapel Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Tony
Ferguson, Tim Ferguson, Mike Hewitt, Phil Hewitt, J.C. Brown, Prentice Brown,
Gerald Brown and Neal Brown. Opal was born Thursday, June 3, 1920 in Macon
County, TN, one of six siblings of the late Alfred and Beadie Dycus Kirby. In
addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her daughter, Joyce
Russell, sisters, Wilma Hewitt, Georgia Ferguson and Alberta Kirby and brother,
Orden Kirby. She was employed with the former Imperial Reading in Lafayette
with 15 years of service and a member of the Church of Christ. Survivors
include: granddaughter, Vickie Claywell and husband, Dickie of Winklers
Community, grandson, Ryan Russell and wife, Tammy of Walnut Shade Community,
great-granddaughter, Amber Claywell, Winklers Community, great-grandsons,
Joshua Wilmore and wife, Dennetria, Daniel Claywell and wife, Jamie, Ethan Russell
and wife, Kelly all of Lafayette, Trevor Russell of Walnut Shade Community,
son-in-law, Joe Russell of Walnut Shade Community, sister, Loma Brown, Atwood,
IL, great-great-grandchildren, Natalie & Alexis Jones, Kaylyn & Dillen
Claywell.
