David “Chris” Wright, 41
Mr. David “Chris” Wright of Carthage was pronounced dead at 12:08 p.m. Friday afternoon September 17, 2011 at the Macon County General Hospital where was transported arriving by ambulance at 11:48 a.m. He was helping harvest tobacco on the Troy Cothron farm when Mr. Wright was apparently stung by a bee causing him to go into anaphylactic shock, an illness he had suffered before.
On this occasion he could not reach his epinephrine pen, which was in his truck in time to administer the needed dose to counteract the sting. His brother found him lying face down in a farm drive unconscious. Funeral services were conducted Tuesday morning September 20th at 11 a.m. from the Carthage Chapel of Sanderson Funeral Home with Rev. Earl Dirkson the Officiant and Rev. Clarence Cartwright the Eulogist. Burial followed in the Smith County Memorial Gardens. Born David Christopher Wright in the Hillsdale Community of Macon County on October 4, 1970, he was the son of Mary Louise “Sue” Wester Wright White of Carthage and the late Clarence Vernon Wright who died June 26, 2007 at the age of 65. Mr. Wright was a 1989 graduate of Macon County High School where he was both an outstanding football and basketball player. Mr. Wright was a member of the Howard Chapel A.M.E. Church in the Beech Hill Community. Mr. Wright was never married but lived a happy and enjoyable life being with and around his family and friends and was an individual who was loved and respected by all who made his acquaintance. Surviving in addition to his mother is a brother, Doug Wright of Carthage several aunts, uncles, cousins and special friends, Vassie Carr and Sonya Crenshaw.
