Mr. David Roy Masters, age
60, of Lafayette, Tennessee passed away on Monday, September 26, 2011 at his
home after a long battle with cancer. Funeral services for David Roy
Masters were conducted on Thursday, September 29 at 12 noon from the Chapel of
the Alexander Funeral Home with Pastor Larry Meadors officiating. David
Masters, Jr, Nick Conley, Wes Conley, and Robert (Skip) Voyles served as
Honorary Pallbearers.

Jimmy Masters, Cecil Masters,
Matthew Masters, Thomas Minix, Creg Woods, and Bob Voyles served as Active
Pallbearers. Interment followed in the Lafayette City Cemetery. David
was born on August 2, 1951in Tampa, Florida to Alvin Masters and Margaret
Pedigo Masters. He was one of three siblings born to this union.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in
death by; one uncle, Cecil Pedigo and one aunt, Mae Pedigo. He was married as a
young man and has three sons and two daughters. Being the family man that he
was, David’s fiancé, children, and grandchildren were the most important to
him. He always wanted the needs of his family provided for first. David worked
as a law officer most of his life. He worked in three different states over the
years; Warren County, Kentucky, Sumner County, Tennessee, and New York City,
New York.  He also was a gunsmith and enjoyed his time spent, repairing
and modifying firearms. David was an avid hunter and fisherman. Hours and
sometimes days were spent on his boat and in the woods. David has many trophy
deer, wildlife, and fish that he liked to show off and brag about. He hunted
all over Tennessee and Kentucky, thus making a lot of friends along the way.
Dale Hollow and Salt Lick Creek were some of the places he enjoyed fishing. He
was a partner co-owning “Pedigo’s Spin-rite Pork Rind Fishing Bait”. David will
be greatly missed by his loving family and friends. He is Survived By; Sons,
Jimmy (Laura) Masters of Carthage, TN, Cecil (Brittany) Masters, and David
Masters Jr. all of Lafayette, TN, Daughters, Jennifer Masters Sluss and Thomas
Minix of Scottsville, KY, and Eva Renae Masters (John) Martin Ramsey of
Knoxville, TN, Brother, Everett (Shirley) Masters of Gretna, Nebraska, Sister,
Avie (Jeff) Carolan of Lutz, FL, Fiancé, Lovelle North and her daughter
Elizabeth North of Lafayette, TN.
