Sammie “Bunt” Adams, 79

Sammie “Bunt” Adams, age 79, of Powell, TN and formerly of Macon County, TN, passed away at his residence. Memorial Services for Sammie “Bunt” Adams will be conducted Saturday afternoon, February 11, 2012 at 1 p.m. from the Enon Missionary Baptist Church in Lafayette, TN with Elder J. E. Shoulders officiating.

Sammie, better known as “Bunt”, was born July 14, 1932 in Macon County, TN, the son of the late Henry Thomas and Lela Curtis Adams. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his sisters, Virginia Russell and Rebecca Follis, brother, Curtis Adams. He was saved at an early age and joined the Enon Missionary Baptist Church in Lafayette, TN. Bunt was a construction worker and carpenter for Gaines & Gaines Construction Company in Nashville, TN with over 30 years of service and a veteran of the Korean War. Survivors include: daughter & son-in-law, Mylinda “Punkin”& Elder Joey Hackett, Lafayette, TN, son & daughter-in-law, Danny “Pee-Wee” & Marlene Adams, Smithville, TN, granddaughter, Coty Hackett, grandsons, Dustin Hackett, both of Lafayette, TN, Jordan Adams, Blaine (Kayla) Adams all of Smithville, TN, step-granddaughter, Danielle (Anthony) Carr, Smith, TN, great-grandchildren, Hannah, Elijah and Katelyn.
