Hollis Lee Scurlock, 85

Hollis Lee Scurlock, of the Union Camp Community of Macon County, passed away at his home on Friday, April 13, 2012 at the age of 85 years. He was born on Monday, October 18, 1926 to the late Harvey Lee and Ammie (Sampson) Scurlock. On July 12, 1947, he was married to the former Hattie Marie Nash, who preceded him in death on January 29, 2008. In addition to his wife and parents, two sons, Teddy and Ricky Scurlock and a daughter, Peggy Maxwell preceded him in death. Mr. Hollis was a farmer most all his life and loved dealing in antique cars. After his wife of 64 years passed away, Mr. Hollis continued to live at home, farm, work in his garden, deal in his cars, drive and died suddenly at home, just like he wanted to do. Like most people he wanted to die at home and not have to go into a Nursing Home. He was a member of the Sycamore Valley Missionary Baptist Church. He is survived by, son and daughter-in-law, Jerry and Shirley Scurlock, Daughter, Pam Brown, all of Lafayette, sisters, Margie Massey of Indianapolis, IN, Margaret Hodges and Lola Turner, brother, Sam Scurlock, all of Lafayette, 14 grandchildren, 38 great-grandchildren, 18 great-great-grandchildren.
