Hugh Boyd Morrison, I, was born on June 25, 1929, and passed away on June 14, 2012, at Macon County General Hospital at the age of eighty-two years. Funeral services for Hugh Morrison were conducted at Alexander Funeral Home on Saturday, June 16, 2012 at 2 p.m. with Brother Richard Patton and Pastor Nolan Brunson officiating. Hal Morrison, Bruce Morrison, Barry Morrison, Johnathan West, Leslie Swindle, Dennis Swindle, Wallace Gammon, and Jerry Hargrove served as pallbearers.  Members of the local VFW and American Legion served as honorary pallbearers. He was a life-long resident of Macon County and the son of the late Mr. Willie Price Morrison and Mrs. Madeline Carr Morrison. Besides his parents, step-mother, Lallie Morrison, his two brothers—Paul Hilary Morrison and Harold Carr Morrison Sr., and his two sisters—Virginia Helen Morrison Gammon and Laura Jane Morrison Keeling, also preceded him in death. Hugh served in the United States Army, and he was proud to be a Veteran of the United States.  He was a man of few words, but he had a passion for the things that he loved. This included his grandchildren, his old cars, and his Scottish heritage. He is survived by his wife of forty-nine years, Janis Priscilla Lancaster Morrison, and by his children, Priscilla and Glenn Hale and Hugh “Boyd” and Wendy Morrison, II. Also surviving are his four grandchildren that he loved dearly: Kyle Morrison Hale, Hillary Lyrisse Morrison, Kristen Elizabeth Hale, and Nolan Boyd Morrison.
