Jessie Witcher Smith, 95

Jessie Witcher Smith, age 95, of Red Boiling Springs, TN passed away Thursday evening, August 2, 2012 at Knollwood Manor in Lafayette. Funeral services for Jessie Witcher Smith were conducted Sunday afternoon, August 5, 2012 at 2 p.m. from the chapel of the Anderson & Son Funeral Home in Red Boiling Springs, TN with E.C. Meadows officiating. Interment followed in the Whitley Cemetery. Pallbearers were Terry Canter, Tim Canter, Johnnie Davis, Scott Nordmark, Brennen Shelton and Patrick Coley. Jessie was born Monday, June 11, 1917 in Macon County, TN, one of three siblings born to the late Aubie and Mai Miller Witcher. On August 17, 1935, she married Vollie Floyd “Bob” Smith who preceded her in death on January 27, 1991 after sharing 55 years together. In addition to her husband and parents, she was also preceded in death by her sister, Mildred Miller and brother, Guy Witcher. She was a homemaker and a member of the Red Boiling Springs Church of Christ. She is survived by: daughter and son-in-law, Peggy & Billy Canter, sons and daughters-in-law, Roger & Shelby Smith all of Red Boiling Springs, Ronald & Billie Smith of Lebanon, grand-daughters & their husbands, Leigh Ann (Scott) Nordmark of Lebanon, Chris Shelton of Canal Fulton, OH, Dawn (Johnnie) Davis of Knoxville, grandsons & their wives, Terry (Joyce) Canter, Tim (Joan) Canter all of Lafayette, great-grandchildren, Jill Coley, Cheryl Carver, Amanda Carver, April Davis, Trista Davis, Brennen & Austin Shelton, Jessica Canter & Brian Nordmark, great-great-grandchildren, Ryan Carver, Ellie Coley, Ryleigh Coley, Collin Carver & Parker Davis.
