Opal C. Andrews Robinson, 79

Opal C. Andrews Robinson was born on June 4, 1933 in Macon County, Tennessee to the late Willie Lee Andrews and Ader Everline Simmons Andrews. She was one of three siblings born to this family. Besides her parents; son, Billy Joe Robinson, and brother, Edward Lee Andrews also preceded her in death. Opal was married on December 24, 1949 to Gerald D. Robinson. They have been together for sixty-two wonderful years. They made a home together and had three sons and one daughter.  Opal stayed busy managing her home and caring for her children. Besides her own children, she also was a babysitter and loved every minute. Opal enjoyed working in her flowers, her vegetable garden, and canning the harvest. In the winter months Opal liked to quilt, and had made several in her life. She was a very loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. As a young woman, Opal was saved and joined New Zion Missionary Baptist Church in the early 50’s. On Saturday, August 11, 2012, the Lord called Opal home. Gerald, the children, and her many friends will miss Opal, but our loss is Heavens gain. She is survived by; Husband, Gerald Robinson of the Williams Community in Macon County, TN, Daughter, Judy Fay (Leslie) Swindle, Sons, Randy D (Connie) Robinson, Benny Robinson, Grandchildren, Chad (Sherry) Swindle, Kevin Swindle, Craig Swindle, Jeremy Robinson, Josh Robinson, Brook (Doug) McDonald, Amanda Robinson, and Lee Robinson, four Great-Grandchildren, Sister, Wilma Shrum and husband Willard all of Lafayette. Funeral services for Ms. Opal Robinson, age 79, were conducted on Tuesday, August 14, at 2 p.m. from the Chapel of Alexander Funeral Home. Serving as Pallbearers were Chad Swindle, Kevin Swindle, Craig Swindle, Jeremy Robinson, Josh Robinson, Lee Robinson, Anthony Shrum, and Terry Andrews. Interment followed in the Macon County Memorial Gardens.
