Matthew Brett Minchey, 41

Matthew Brett Minchey, better known as Brett, was born in Tompkinsville, Kentucky, on November 5, 1971 to Roger Dale Minchey and Brenda Brown Minchey. On October 19, 2002, Brett married the former Nichole Janz, they shared 15 years together. They have one daughter, Finley Grace Minchey, which was his pride and joy. He also has a step-son, Dusty, that he raised and loved as his own. Brett is preceded in death by his grandparents, Ray and Pearlie Brown, and Johnnie and Ovie Minchey. Brett has worked for Murray Tool and Die in Gallatin for the last twenty years. His pass time was spent fishing. Whether he was on the bank or in the boat, whether it was a two-inch or a 12-inch fish it didn’t matter; Brett was happy. He always had a smile on his face. Brett was a big cut-up that everyone enjoyed being around. Brett was a member of Lafayette Church of Christ. On October 9, 2012, Brett was suddenly taken away, to be in Heaven. Brett will be greatly missed by his family and many friends, but our loss is Heavens gain. Brett is survived by; Wife, Nichole Minchey, Daughter, Finley Grace Minchey both of Lafayette, Tennessee, Step-son, Dusty (Jessica) Janz, Step-grandson, Brody Ray Janz all of Lebanon, Tennessee, Parents, Roger and Brenda Minchey of Lafayette, Tennessee, and a host of Uncles, Aunts, and Cousins, also survives. Funeral services for Brett Minchey were conducted on Saturday at 11 a.m. from the Lafayette Church of Christ with Jerry Mercer officiating. Serving as Honorary Pallbearers were Murray Tool & Die Employees, Thomas Driver, Troy Driver, Timmy Hewitt, Donnie Steen, Charles Jones, Brody Ray Janz, Billy Meador, Don Traylor, Larry J. Tucker, Jerry Driver, Bryan Shaw, Chris Shaw, and Clint Carter.  Serving as Active Pallbearers were Ronnie Brown, Corby Brown, Larry Brown, Dusty Janz, Dale Brown, Larry R. Brown, Jason Allen, and Fred Hix. Interment followed in the Anderson Memorial Park. Alexander Funeral Home, Directors, in charge of arrangements.
