Ruth Bean Grace, 91

Ruth Bean Grace, age 91, of the Mt. Vernon Community in Clay County, TN passed away Monday evening, November 5, 2012 at the Monroe Health Care & Rehab in Tompkinsville, KY. Funeral services for Ruth Bean Grace were conducted Thursday morning, November 8, 2012 at 11 a.m. from the chapel of the Anderson & Son Funeral Home in Red Boiling Springs, TN with Jimmy Cook officiating. Interment followed in the Mt. Vernon Cemetery. Ruth was born Thursday, November 3, 1921, in Clay County, TN, the 12th of 14 siblings born to the late Sydney and Martha Browning Bean. On September 21, 1940, she married Dumas “Zeke” Grace, who preceded her in death on April 22, 2006. She graduated from Gamaliel High School in Gamaliel, KY. After she married Dumas they moved to Toledo, Ohio where she worked as a payroll clerk for the Acklin Stamping Company. They returned to Clay County, TN in 1948. During the late 1950’s she taught school at Oak Grove Elementary School and served as the school secretary at Hermitage Springs School. From 1959 until she retired in 1989 she worked as a secretary for the Clay County Department of Human Services. In February 2011 she moved to the Stonecrest Assisted Living in Lafayette, TN. She was a member of the Mt. Vernon Church of Christ. Survivors include: son & daughter-in-law, Jimmy & Elizabeth Grace, Atlanta, GA, grandsons, Stewart Grace, Atlanta, GA, John Grace & wife, Stephanie, Seattle, WA, sister & brother-in-law, Marie & Cornell Rhoton, Tompkinsville, KY, many nieces & nephews.
