Clifton Wilson, 84

Clifton Wilson was born in Jackson County, Tennessee, on August 30, 1928 to the late Jonathan Wilson and Georgia Minchey Wilson. He was one of eight siblings born to this union.
In 1957, Clifton was married to Vida Willene Smith, who preceded him in death in 2012. Besides his wife and parents, Clifton’s brothers, Robert Wilson and Jesse Wilson, sisters Bradley Brandon and Dean White, and Infant daughter, Betty Lou Wilson also preceded him in death. “Simple man”, describes Clifton to the fullest. Clifton worked as a farmer all of his life raising tobacco and tending cattle. He was a devoted family man, his wife and children were top priority. He enjoyed watching football and being with his family, especially the grandchildren. As a young man, he was saved by the grace of God, and later became a member of Brattontown Missionary Baptist Church, where he remained a member until his passing. On Friday, November 30, 2012 the Lord called Clifton home. He will be greatly missed by his family and all who knew and loved him. Funeral services for Clifton Wilson were conducted Sunday, December 2 at 2:30 pm from the Chapel of Alexander Funeral Home with Elder Barry Miller officiating. Jeremy Wilson, Phillip Church, Joe Parson, Andy Graves, Ricky Wilson, and Nicky Wilson served as Pallbearers.  Interment followed in the Drury Cemetery. Clifton is survived by, Sons and Daughters-in-law, Elder Richard “Ricky” (Teresa) Wilson, Nicky (Teresa) Wilson, Brothers and Sisters-in-law, Sherman (Sue) Wilson, Vic (Patsy) Wilson all of Lafayette, TN, Draper (Helen) Wilson of Hendersonville, TN, four Grandchildren and nine Great Grandchildren also survive.
