Sam Houston Snow, Jr., 87

Sam Houston Snow, Jr., of Lafayette, was born on Sunday, February 22, 1925, one of four children, to the late Sam Houston (Sr.) and Mattie Lou McGee Snow. He departed this life on Tuesday, February 5, 2013 at the age of 87 years. Funeral services for Sam Snow were conducted on Thursday, February 8, 2013 from the White Oak Church of Christ with Mike Rogers officiating. Interment followed in the Underwood Cemetery.  Pallbearers were Ronnie Waller, Scott Gann, Jeff Thomas, Joey Lawrence, Garron Sow, Kyle Snow, Rocky Hudson, Phillip Driver and Josh Hauskin. On January 1, 1958, he was married to the former Miss Jewel Lee Clark, who preceded him in death on September 1, 2012. This union was blessed with three children, Janie, Anthony and Phillip. Sam was retired from Carter Automotive and was a member of the White Oak Church of Christ. One of his favorite pastimes was reading, especially reading his Bible every day. He could be found in his flower gardens and quilting in his spare time and he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Oleta Snow Osborne, two brothers, Willie Snow and Charlie Snow, and a granddaughter, Veronica Snow. He is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Janie and Jeff Hauskin; sons and daughters-in-law, Anthony and Stacy Snow, all of Lafayette, and Phillip and Fay Snow of Red Boiling Springs; grandchildren, Jordan Hauskin, Joshua Hauskin, Garron Snow, Kyle Snow, Adrianna Snow, Samantha Snow, Courtney Paris and Cody Strong; and he was expecting his first great grandchild, Samuel Parker Crabtree. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
