Sergeant Dickey Cherry, 63

Sergeant Dickey Cherry of Lebanon, formerly of Macon County, was born on July 14, 1949, one of four children, to the late Mitchell Cherry and Juanita Carlisle Cherry, who survives and resides in Red Boiling Springs. He departed this life on February 16, 2013 at the age of 63 years. Funeral services for Dickey Cherry were conducted on Sunday, February 17, 2013 from the Anderson & Son Funeral Home in Lafayette with Denny King officiating. Interment followed in the Anderson & Son Memorial Park. Pallbearers were the THP Honor Guard. He was married to the former Cathy Lambert on November 21, 1975, who survives and resides in Lebanon. Sergeant Cherry was a 1st degree Mason in Clay County and was retired from the Tennessee Highway Patrol where he began working in 1974.  He was a Missionary Baptist in belief. In addition to his wife of 37 years and his mother, he is survived by a son, John Miller of Lebanon; brothers, Rickey and wife, Charlotte Cherry of Lafayette, Mickey and his wife, Tamara Cherry; sister, Michelle and husband, Kevin Sexton, all of the Pumpkintown Community of Macon County; grandchildren, Christopher and Cody miller; and a host of other relatives and friends. He will be missed by all those who knew and loved him.
