Harvey Ray Taylor, 67

Harvey Ray Taylor was born in Ohio on July 19, 1945 to the late Harvey Taylor and Daisy Sidwell. He was one of three siblings born to this union. Ray had one child by a previous marriage, and was married the love of his life, Ruby Reid on May 20, 1988 and gained three step-children. They have spent 23 years together and have enjoyed sharing their families together.  
Besides his parents, one sister, Brenda also preceded him in death. Ray was a hard worker, and retired from Carter Automotive, where he had worked for 20 years. Ray loved to work on lawnmowers, and this became his job after his retirement. His love and knowledge of lawnmowers earned him the nickname “The Lawnmower Man” by many people in the community. Ray also enjoyed wood working in his spare time. Above all else, he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. On Wednesday, March 13, 2013 the Lord called Ray home. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. Funeral services for Harvey Ray Taylor were conducted Saturday, March 16 at 11 am from the Chapel of Alexander Funeral Home with Brother Christopher Solomon officiating. Interment followed in the Drury Cemetery. Harvey Ray is survived by; Wife, Ruby Reid Taylor of the Webbtown Community in Macon County, TN, Daughter, Penny Gilbert and Tim Russell of Springfield, TN, Step-children, Barry Montgomery of Lafayette, TN, Sherry Montgomery of Nashville, TN, Allison (Chris) Solomon of Lebanon, TN, Brother, Steve (Deborah) Taylor of Nashville, TN, Grandchildren, Kaise (Ben) Adams, Kristina (Phillip) Roberts, Eric Gilbert, Christopher (Terra) Solomon, and Kayla Solomon.
