Jessie Auline McDonald, 105

Ms. Jessie Auline McDonald was born in Lafayette, Tennessee on September 22, 1907 to the late Enoch George Cook and Roberta Bray Cook. She was one of eight children born to this union. Auline graduated from high school and went on to Middle TN State in Murfreesboro, where she received her Associates Degree in Education. She was a teacher for several of the community schools in this area. After teaching for three years, she took a business course and worked for two years for the Macon County Health Office, then in Nashville, as a secretary for a beauty school. On December 23, 1939, she was married to Jesse Sewell McDonald. They have three children, Sandra, Roger, and Gayle. After the first child was born, Auline quit work to stay home and raise their children. On January 23, 2001, after sharing 61 wonderful years of marriage, Jesse passed away. Besides her husband and parents; grandson, Chris Holt, brothers, Clay Cook, Hooper Cook, and Carlos Cook, sisters, Stella West, D’rotha Thomas, Crotia Zimmerle, and Otis Shrum, also preceded her in death. She was a delight to be around and had a sweet sense of humor. Crocheting, sewing, and cross-stitching where just a few crafts, Auline enjoyed doing. She was always active in civic and church activities, and a dedicated member of the White Oak Church of Christ. Auline was a caring and loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She had lived to see many changes in this world, during her 105 years here. On Wednesday, March 13, 2013, the Lord called Auline home, she will be deeply missed by her family and all who knew and loved her. Funeral services for Ms. Auline were conducted Saturday afternoon at 2 pm from the White Oak Church of Christ with Mike Rogers officiating.  Phillip Holt, Dan McDonald, Joey Lawrence, Doug McDonald, Dyan Doss, and Terry Doss served as Pallbearers. Interment followed in the Driver Cemetery. She is survived by; Daughters, Sandra (Dale) Meador of the White Oak Community in Macon County, TN, Gayle (Michael) Holt of Castalian Springs, TN, Son, Roger (Milla) McDonald of Florence, Alabama, Grandchildren, Doug McDonald of Red Boiling Springs, Dan (Christie) McDonald of Hendersonville, TN, Lindsey (Joey) Lawrence of Lafayette, TN, Phillip (Paige) Holt of Goodlettsville, TN, Great-grandchildren, Brittany, Adrian, Darian, and Braxton McDonald, Campbell Holt and Audrey Holt, Special caregiver, Wanda Kinslow of Lafayette, TN.
