Ruth Brockette Kirkland, 69

Ruth Brockette Kirkland, age 69, of Hendersonville and formerly of the Russell Hill Community in Macon County, TN passed away Sunday morning, April 7, 2013 at the Skyline Medical Center in Nashville, TN. Funeral Services for Ruth Brockette Kirkland were conducted Wednesday afternoon, April 10, 2013 at 1 p.m. from the chapel of the Anderson & Son Funeral Home in Red Boiling Springs, TN with Father Jeff Jones officiating. Interment followed in the Patterson Cemetery. Her pallbearers were Bryan Grissom, Scott Grissom, Josh Grissom, Phillip Brockette, Jimmy Brockett and Harold Brockett.  
Ruth was born Tuesday, June 15, 1943 in Macon County, Tennessee, one of three siblings born to the late Willard and Willa Dean Glover Brockette. She was married to Dr. David Kirkland, who preceded her in death. In addition to her husband and parents, she was also preceded in death by her son, Danny Smith and brother, Paul Brockette. Ruth served as the former medical office manager for the Westside Chiropractor Clinic in Jacksonville, Florida for several years. She was a member of the First Naivety Episcopal Church also in Jacksonville, Florida.  Ruth lived every day to its fullest. She loved her children, grandchildren, friends and to travel.  She had a terrific personality to brighten everyone’s day.
Survivors include: daughters & sons-in-law, Shawanna & Mike Jenkins, Red Boiling Springs, Samantha & Jim Smith, Hendersonville, Simona Thomas, Clarksville, grandchildren, Janet Strode and husband, Chris, Murfreesboro, Darrell Smith, Hendersonville, Chiann and Judson Thomas, Clarksville, great-grandson, Christian Strode, Murfreesboro, sister & brother-in-law, Dorothy & Gary Grissom, Gallatin, sister-in-law, Shelia Brockette, Lafayette and a host of nieces and nephews.
