Barbara “Bobbie” Boyd Gill, 71

Barbara “Bobbie” Boyd Gill, of Portland, and formerly of Macon County, was born in Baker County, Oregon, on September 9, 1941 to the late Grover See and Violet White See, who survives. She departed this life on Saturday, April 27, 2013 at the age of 71 years. Funeral services for Barbara Gill were conducted on Monday, April 29, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. from the Anderson & Son Funeral Home in Lafayette, with Brother Ricky Morris officiating. Interment with military honors followed in the Anderson & Son Memorial Park. Pallbearers were Brandon Goad, Jason Wilson, Dewayne Gill Jr., Bob Sircy, Chris Heraus and Murphy Gill. On May 5, 1963, she married Robert Boyd, who preceded her in death on October 29, 2005. This union was blessed with five children – Frank, Randy, Mike, Ronda and Carrie. She was later married Earl DeWayne Gill on August 8, 2009 and welcomed four stepchildren to her family – Murphy, Earl DeWayne Jr., Deborah and Rebecca. She was a former United States Marine – a title that she was proud to carry. She worked for many years at American Greetings in Lafayette, as well as, Genesco and the GAP in Gallatin. She had formerly attended the Northside Assembly of God in Biloxi, Mississippi and was currently attending The Living Free Fellowship in Portland. Bobbie wanted everyone to know that she praised God for her blessed life. In addition to her first husband, Robert, and her father, she was preceded in death by her son Frank, and her brother, Jim See. Along with her husband DeWayne of Portland, and mother Violet of Glasgow, KY, she is survived by sons and daughter-in-law, Randy Boyd and Karen Heath of Smyrna, Mike Boyd of Portland; daughters and son-in-law, Ronda Boyd of Gallatin, Carrie and Champ Daniels of Smiths Grove, KY; step-children and spouses, Murphy and Michelle Gill of Owosso, MI, Earl DeWayne and Jewel Gill, of Hermitage, Deborah and Drew Shelton of Nashville, Rebecca and Jerry Gill of Nashville, Grandchildren, Brandon and wife, Beth Goad, Andy and wife, Samantha Goad, Ashley Boyd and several step-grandchildren, great-grandchildren, Izabella Goad, Lauryn Goad, and Baby “G” due in July.
