Alton C. Minchey, 73

Alton C. Minchey was born in Gainesboro, Tennessee on September 22, 1939 to the late Johnny B. Minchey and Maggie Sneed Minchey. He was one of eight siblings born to this union. Besides his parents; brothers, Clanton Minchey, Glen Minchey, and Coyal Minchey and sister, Lorelle Bowman also preceded Alton in death. On June 28, 1970, Alton married the former Brenda Kay Goodman. They shared forty-three beautiful years together and raised one son, Anthony. Alton was a self-employed investor, dealing in Real Estate. He owned and maintained several rental properties in the surrounding areas. As a young man, he loved to drag race. Alton also collected older model cars and owned several unique cars. He could spend the day just talking about cars, especially his own. Alton had a great personality, always full of fun. You never knew what to expect, when you saw him coming. Alton kept everyone in stitches. He was a husband, father, and brother that cared deeply about his family. Alton left a testimony behind, letting his family know that he had made peace with the Lord. On July 22, 2013, the Lord called Alton to his new home. He will be greatly missed by his family and all who knew and loved him. Funeral services for Alton Minchey will be conducted Wednesday, July 24, at 1 pm from Alexander Funeral Home Chapel with Elder Charlie Patterson officiating. Interment will follow in the Macon County Memorial Gardens. Alton is survived by; Wife, Brenda Minchey of Lafayette, TN, Son, Anthony Minchey of Nashville, TN, Brothers, Dalton (Edith) Minchey of Carthage, TN, Louie (Carolyn) Minchey of Lafayette, TN, Sister, Judy Reece of Carthage, TN, Brother-in-law, Jeffrey Goodman of Lafayette, TN, Sister-in-law, Diana (Bill) Roark of Lebanon, TN, and Jo Ella Minchey of Lafayette, TN.
