Lillian Darlene White, 56
Lillian Darlene White, 56, of Nashville died August 2, 2013. She was born January 15, l957, in Macon County to the late Horace Odell and Lois Fishburn White. Darlene attended Macon County schools and graduated from Middle Tennessee State University with a degree in psychology. She attended nursing school at East Tennessee State University. She worked as a registered nurse, social worker and educator. She was a champion of the underdog. She enjoyed traveling and cooking and preserving and taking care of others. She was well known for her kindness, generosity, and unique and unconventional perspectives on social institutions and community relations and events. Recently, she enjoyed caring for her granddaughter A’nya. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Bobbie Janice Holland and brother Johnny Michael White. She is survived by her children Daniel and Ashley White, granddaughter A’nya White, and compaion Kenny Whttaker, all of Nashville. She is also survived by sisters Nera White and June (Henry) Fisher and brothers Davis (Brenda) and Jimmy White, all of Lafayette, and devoted friends Joe and Mary Linville of Hartsville and Linda Mann of Nashville as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends. A memorial service will be held on Friday, August 9, 2013, at 11 AM at Strawther and White Funeral Home 425 Walnut Grove Road, Hartsville. Strawther and White Funeral Home is in charge of cremation.
